The genius of Western philosophy peaks, perhaps, in the marvelous revelations of Immanuel Kant and Friedrich Hegel. Of milestone significance is Kant's conclusion that through raw intellect any assertion could be proven or disproven. Hegel revised Kant by explaining that any thesis can be logically substantiated or refuted because the universe itself is uniformly ambiguous.

In other words, truth depends on nothing but who is the more skillful debator: As long as we recognize the fundamental internal antagonism of our physical and metaphysical surroundings, we can escape such traumas as the transition from Euclidian to non-Euclidian geometry, conversion from Republicanism to Maoism, or the interruption of mathematical precision by

MCC Akron is very much on the grow and on the go this month with special events like that Valentine Party on Feb. 14th at the American Disco, where everyone will receive a longstemmed carnation at the door. Donation is $2.00 for refreshments, flowers and a fabulous time. MCC Akron invites all Northeastern Ohio friends to come and bring your "Valentines" or meet a new "Valentine" at the American Disco this Tuesday evening starting at 10 p.m. The American Disco is located at 4199 Kenmore Boulevard, just off the Bowery-Boulevard Exit of 1-76 expressway in the center of Akron.

Sunday, February 26th is the Old Fashioned Fried Chicken Dinner in the Dining Room of the church at 3300 Morewood Road (across from Summit Mall). The time will be 3:30 p.m. immediately following the regular worship service, where the menu includes...Fried Chicken, Mashed Patotoes, Cole Slaw, Green Beans, Hot Rolls, Cornbread, & Dessert...all for only a $3.00 donation.

The sum of evolution is founded on individual initiatives and self-interest. Devotion, love, admiration, respect etc. for others are merely structural elements of biological corporations. Nations, tribes, friends, families and couples are speculative enterprizes in which individuals participate to the ultimate benefit of the majority of the participants. At the same time, these systems prey upon a selected minority. Organizations function as proto-organisms to the extent that they assume personalities at the expense of their constituent units. To maintain form and vitality superorganizations must propagandize their members to accept potential peripheral status so that they may be purged without injury to the larger whole. Inadequacy, rejection and depression are the purging mechanisms of social proto-

organisms. People who succumb to depression and ultimately suicide indicate that they have been tricked into identifying closely with the macrocosm of their society and have been duped into.submitting graciously to the sloughingoff process.

In short, the phenomenon of suicide defines the interests of the greater society into which the individual is inexorably drawn. However, every person bears an obligation to heroism on behalf of his/her own individuality. We should be what Nietzsche described as "supermen," independent of nations, tribes and tongues. We ought to be

"Intelligensias" and organisms unto ourselves rather than the crumbling bottombricks of weighty garages. Nobility, heroism, pride, honor, glory and every crisp attribute belong, not to the slow sludge of mass bio-social machinery, but to singularity, intellectual selfsufficiency and self-love.

"Know thyself," first, but love thyself in any case! We should consider our destinies manifest
